Inclement Weather Plans


As mentioned in the previous post, we’ll be out of the Building 75 Drill Hall for the remainder of the week.

We all love getting a little fresh air, but the bummer is that there’s a strong chance of rain over the next few days.  So on the off-chance that they get the forecast right, we wanted to have some back-up plans.  Our inclement weather location will be the BUILDING 8 DRILL HALL for some body weight work and basketball fun.  This will be the same for the remainder of the week.

Coaches, some recommended workouts are posted below.  But if the group wants to get creative and has other ideas, nothing is set in stone.

Wednesday, 17Dec14

5 RFT:
42 DUs
42' Handstand Walk
42' Burpee Broad Jump
- 42' is baseline to half-court.
- Scale for handstand walk is 3 wallwalks.

Thursday, 18Dec14

Decending Ladder, 10-1:
Pistols (ea.)
Russian Twists (25/15#)
1 lap Run (between rounds)
- "1-lap" run is outside perimeter of basketball court.
- Athletes perform movements in center of court.
- Use edge of basketball court surface to raise heels if needed for pistols.
- Use dumbells from gym for the Russian Twists. Please remember to put them back!

Friday, 19Dec14

Deck of Cards:
Hearts = Sit-ups
Diamonds = Air squats
Spades = Burpees
Clubs = Lunges
Jokers = Shuttle Sprints
- Face cards = 10 reps
- Shuttle sprints are baseline to 1/4 court to baseline to 1/2 court to baseline to 3/4 court to baseline to far baseline and back.

It's Friday before a holiday week, so let's not pretend anyone is in a hurry to get back to the office. Play basketball until you get bored. Make up rules/games/challenges and play like kids - we don't get to do this often enough.
